VW Unveils Sedric, A Level 5 Autonomous Vehicle
Volkswagen Group was recently showcasing their concept car, Sedric which has been exclusively created for autonomous driving of level 5, at the Cityscape Global in Dubai.
The car has been dubbed as ‘Sedric’ and made the debut for the Middle East at the stand of Dubai Land Department(DLD) in the exhibition. The car has been designed and built by the VW’s Future Center Europe in Potsdam and VW Group Research based in Wolfsburg.
The vehicle doesn’t require any human driver and will feature an integrated mobility concept for the future of road traffic.
After entering the car, a passenger can talk to Sedric. Passengers will even be able to ask Sedric regarding the destination, driving time, how to get there, traffic situation and so on. In short, Sedric can be talked to, like one would do to a personal assistant. The car’s windscreen is going to be an OLED screen that has been equipped with augmented reality, which serves as entertainment and communication centre, although the passengers will also be able to sit back, closing their eyes and relax.
