Toyota’s Innovative Creation to Put an End to Teens Overspeeding
Toyota is an innovator in the true sense, looking beyond to deliver a function that serves to improve the automobile experience. In their latest antics, they have come up with an ingenious method for helping parents who are terrified of persuading their children to drive safely.
The brand has a new Safe and Sound App that has been created by Saatchi & Saatchi London. The app has been designed in such a manner that it blocks incoming calls and social media posts once the car is travelling over the speed of 15 kmph. Additionally, if the children try using the phone or breaking the speed limit, the app automatically makes a switch to the parents’ Spotify playlist. Parents can put up as much embarrassing music on the playlist as they want.
When the teen wants to borrow the car, the parents can activate the app, and it syncs with both the parents and the child’s Spotify accounts. The app makes use of the Google Maps API technology for detecting if the child is speeding and when the driver touches the phone or breaks the posted speed limit, the music that is being played will be replaced by whatever the parents have in the playlist.
Only after the driver returns within the speed limit or stops using the phone, their music will be played.
Executive Creative Director(Global Brands), Saatchi & Saatchi gave a statement, which talked about how teens will rather not want to be embarrassed and will stick to the rules due to it.
The Safe and Sound app will be available for all the drivers and not just to those with Toyota. However, for now, the app is Android only.
