Tesla Model Y to Hit the Roads in 2019
Tesla is making all kinds of efforts to be on top of the automobile world and creating a niche that is unmatched by any other vehicle manufacturer. Although Tesla is doing all it can to ensure that it reaches all parts of the world; it still has a lot of roads to cover. But this hasn’t deterred the company who has been working on creating electric vehicles with autonomous capabilities.
Tesla is looking to expand the places it caters to while improving its production and adding new cars. Tesla has been giving teasers about new vehicles to expand its current three models, and there will be the fourth one shortly. The latest addition will be the Tesla Model Y.
Elon Muska, CEO, Tesla Motors revealed the company’s plans for the Tesla Model Y, though not much is known yet about the vehicle. However, the little information tells us that the Tesla Model Y will be a compact SUV; and will be smaller than Model X, which is the only SUV Tesla has on offer right now.
The car won’t be based on the existing Model 3, but rather, have their brand new platform. The price for the Tesla Model Y will be decided later; although, Musk has said that the car will be on the roads for customers to drive by 2019.
Tesla Model Y vehicles will be built in the company’s new production facility; but further details about when or where the production will happen, haven’t been given. The facility has not been revealed yet!
Apart from this, Tesla is also working on an electric truck, as was evident from a teaser in a previous event.
Further information, as well as the unveiling of the heavy duty vehicle, is expected to happen around September this year. There might be information about the Tesla Model Y and its new facility too!
