Tesla Model X Gets 5 Star Rating from NHTSA
Tesla has been setting some serious benchmarks and milestones for the other automakers to follow. Coupled with innovation, the company has been making sure it stays on top of the game with constant updates. And Tesla’s latest achievements are a part of it; Tesla’s Model X crossover SUV has got the perfect five-star rating from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
NHTSA is a governmental body whose role is to rate the vehicle safety parameters using a 5-star system. The testers from NHTSA conducted multiple tests on the Tesla Model X across different categories and gave a five-star rating to the car. The Tesla Model X is the first car to get the perfect rating in all divisions.
The Model X has eradicated the problem by using a heavy lithium battery pack kept on the bottom of the crossover. This helps Tesla have a lower center of gravity, which gave the Tesla a chance to be the first car in class for getting a perfect score.
It has also been quoted that people within the Model X SUV have a chance of 93 percent for survival. Although, Model X came second regarding this. It was beaten by Tesla Model S, the sedan from Tesla.
Model S and Model X were launched for the UAE market earlier this year. However, the cars don’t come cheap and carry a price tag of AED 344,000 for Model X and AED 275,000 for Model S.
