Renault Embraces its Roots in a New Video
Renault has released a video that pays homage to the company’s rich racing history in a remembrance to the racing team’s inauspicious beginning.
For now, Renault’s racing team has won a total of 12 Constructors’ Championships, 11 Drivers’ Championships and 170 Formula One wins since the automaker started its journey as a rookie in 1977.
When Renault started the racing career at the Silverstone Grand Prix in the year 1977, the entrant from Renault was its RS01, first formula one car equipped with a turbo-compressed engine. The car was nicknamed “The Yellow Teapot” owing to the distinct black, yellow and white colours of the car that gave out white smoke.
The start of Renault’s winning tradition began just two years after the launch, with Jean-Pierre Jabouille driving an RS10, taking the cup to home.
Jean-Pierre makes a comeback in the video and will introduce Renault’s team black, yellow and white tea kettle.
The video from the Renault managed to garner six million views in just one week.
