Porsche to Unveil its 911 Speedster Successor Later This Year
While Porsche’s last 911 speedster model was unveiled in 2010, rumours have started to circulate about a new 911 speedster model to be in work pipeline and is being prepared to unleash it as a final special edition before the current life cycle ends.
Though the Information about the model remains scarce, Porsche has a habit of repeating history itself.
Back in 2010 model, the sports car was packed with a 3.8-litre six-cylinder petrol motor which was borrowed from the 911 GTS. This allowed the GTS to drive at a speed of 0-100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds.
According to the sources, the new 911 speedster successor will be packed with the flat twin-turbo six-litre engine which is said to be borrowed from the current GTS lineup. Currently, the existing units push out 444 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque helping the car in going 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.
Porsche produced just 356 units of previous 911 Speedster, coated in carrera white and pure blue color.Expectations are there to increase the production number, to confirm what the company has planned, we will have to wait for the Frankfurt Motor show which will start from September, 12.
