New Mercedes-Benz S Class to Have V6 Engines!
Earlier, when the S-Class’ updated version was unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz didn’t provide any mention of the six-cylinder engine in the updated series.
However, now the company has revealed that the twin-turbocharged V8, as well as V12 options, will be joined by a pair of inline six-cylinder engines, marking the company’s return to V6.
There is nothing old about the M256 six-cylinder engine that pulls out over 400 horsepower in the top end variant.
Apart from the Mercedes-AMG S 63 4.0-liter V8 model, and the S 65 6.0-liter V12 model and the Mercedes-Maybach S 650 have already been announced in the Shanghai. The V6 petrol options will be available in S450, S 320 entry-level guise, and finally, S500 which had previously been provided with a V8 engine.
The new S-Class comes equipped with different sets of semi-autonomous features like remote parking, Mercedes latest-generation infotainment unit, as well as a brand new suspension system, which can cause the body to tilt around the corners with up to 2.65 degrees for enhancing comfort and reducing body roll. The car will also have other driver assistance features.
The proceedings for the GCC region will start from AED 404,000 for the S 450, while the cost of Plug-in Hybrid S 560 will be AED 491,000 later next year.
