New Ford Ecosport 2018 Variant to Come With All-Wheel Drive
Last Year, during the Los Angeles Motor Show, Ford put its new 2018 Ecosport crossover on public display, however, the Jaguar I-Pace, which promised zero-emissions hogged all the attention at the time.
Now, the Ford will announce the redesigned Ecosport again, also going to be known as Ford Ecosport 2018, at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show after which the car will go on sale worldwide, including India and the Middle East, where the variant will get region-specific powertrains as well as equipment levels.
The difference overseas will be a three-cylinder 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol based engine that’ll be offered in the 2018 variant of the Ecosport in three different modes; the entry-level model will have 100 horsepower and a six-speed manual transmission, while the 125 horsepower and the 140 horsepower variants will have a six-speed automatic transmission.
Right now, the earlier version of the Ecosport starts from AED70,000 and has a naturally-aspirated 1.5-liter engine, which produces 110 horsepower in the Middle East, hence, a more refined turbocharged engine is likely to welcome.
This is the first time that the 2018 Ecosport will have an all-wheel-drive option, so there’s a lot of hope from the car as it makes its local debut at the Dubai Motor Show 2017.
