Mercedes-AMG To Launch Another G-Class Vehicle at Frankfurt Motor Show 2017
Even after a glorious history of 38 years of serving people around the world, the Mercedes-Benz Geländewagen is still not going anywhere in the time to come.
In past few years, Mercedes has been using this platform originally made for the military as much as possible with a couple of editions as well. The company has launched the G63 AMG 6×6 six-wheel drive pickup, post that the Night Edition, then one titled as the Final Edition (it wasn’t). After these came the portal-axle G500 4×4², and in early 2017, the Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet.
The Mercedes-Maybach G560 Landaulet came out only in limited numbers, with only 99 units of it being produced.
Now, Mercedes has developed another G-Class iteration; the latest variant will be headed to the Frankfurt Motor Show, which starts next week.
After its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the car is likely to make another preview at the Dubai Motor Show 2017, a region of high importance for the vehicle.
There will be two models of the G series that are to be revealed. The first in the Mercedes-AMG G63 Exclusive Edition. The G63 Exclusive Edition has a 5.5-litre twin-turbo engine that produces 571 horsepower.
The other model is the Mercedes-AMG G65 Exclusive Edition, which will be powered by a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 engine that produces 630 horsepower and carries a price tag of AED 1.25 million.
Both Exclusive Edition Gs are provided with stainless steel sump guards, and an optional AMG Monza grey, which is available only for these cars. The body accents have been formed using Dark-coloured aluminum, with the wheels being high sheen silver or matte black 21-inch pieces. In a first for a G-class vehicle, the vehicle color matches the spare wheel cover.
On the insides, there are multiple features, ranging from Nappa hide everywhere, two-tone leather, optional carbon fiber or piano black trim, and AMG sports seats. Other options included are the contrasting red seatbelts, two-tone AMG performance steering wheel, and leather grab-handles.
