Lynk & Co Unveils Its Latest Sedan 03
Geely’s new venture Lynk & Co has entered the sedan market with its latest launch. The debut of 03 sedan by Lynk & Co marks a new phase for the company that recently unveiled its crossover 01 at the Shanghai Auto Show. 01 bears a resemblance to the Volvo XC40, while the 03 sedan has some features common to Volvo S40 sedan. This is due to Lynk & Co. and Volvo sharing the same parent company, Geely.
The 03’s design has been modelled on the same design idea as done in the 01 crossover. The exteriors have been designed to create a great looking vehicle with a premium and attractive design. The roof has been painted black which starts from the base of the A-pillar and gives a good contrast to the white body of the sedan. On the rear end, L-shaped tail lamps that have been designed the same way as 01 have been joined by a black strip that has the logo of Lynk & Co on it. Also present are the two exhausts that have been placed on the either sides of the rear bumper which exude a rich feel.
For the interior, inspiration has been drawn from previous Volvo concepts to model the steering wheel, centre console and the steering wheel. All the instruments present are kept in an all digitised unit that accompanies the infotainment system screen.
However, the technical details of the 03 sedan have not been made public, but some speculations say that the sedan will most likely have 01’s 1.5-litre petrol as well as an electric motor to choose from, for the customers. The 03 may even share the engine with the new S40 that is yet to come. The car comes packed with a lot of safety and driver assistance systems that have been pioneered by Volvo.
The 03 sedan is expected to go on sale in the later part of 2017 after the 01 has been launched for sales. However, the sedan will first be launched in the China and later on, will be on sale in the United States and Europe by 2019/20. Keeping in mind Geely’s presence in the UAE, the sedan may be launched in the GCC just about the same time.
