Lincoln Navigator 2018 Model More Spacious and Comfortable
Lincoln’s Navigator 2018 model, the automaker’s largest luxury SUV will launch this fall for sale with a surprise new twist; the new Navigator 2018 will be offered in an extended length version.
The latest iteration of the Navigator now measures 221.9 inches, around a foot longer than the previous version which had been debuted at the New York Auto Show 2017 earlier this year. The car features more cargo space that is available because of the storage compartment below the floor of the third row; which isn’t available on the smaller iteration. The 2018 model will also have larger wheelbase with a difference of around 10 inches apart from larger second-row doors.
In the engine department, the newer longer and the regular version of the Navigator 2018 model are powered by a new 3.5-litre V6 engine. The transmission for the engine consists of a 10-speed automatic transmission. The new engine creates an additional 70 horsepower and about 54 Nm torque extra between the new model and the outgoing model. However, there will be no differences between the power in the two versions despite an addition of length.
Till now, the car maker hasn’t disclosed the pricing for the Navigator 2018 model.
The large SUV has a 12-inch instrument cluster that is configurable. Lincoln has gone on the record to say that the head-up display is the brightest and the largest in the industry. The HUD will show time, speed, weather, and gas.
Prompts for the phone calls, navigation and radio stations also appear for some seconds and then fade away.
The Navigator 2018 model has been provided with six USB ports; chargings ports at every seat, an 110-volt plug, and four 12-volt power outlets. The central console also has a wireless charging pad to use for smartphones.
To give the longer Navigator an exquisite look, Lincoln will provide a new Black Label theme known as the “Destination”. The theme has been inspired by the vintage luggage and has Khaya wood laser-etched appliques and mahogany red Venetian leather. There will also be two other Black Label themes, Yacht Club and Chalet.
According to the sources in the company, to incorporate such luxurious interiors on the larger version was a challenge but the challenge seems worth it!
