Kia’s 2018 Rio Compact Launched in UAE at AED 49,900
Kia Middle East has launched an all-new Rio Compact that will be available in the UAE at a price of AED 49,900. The Rio Compact will be available with Kia’s exclusive distribution partner Al Majid Motors.
Rio Compact will be available in a five-door body style initially, while a sedan model will probably in the pipeline just like the earlier model. The Rio buyers will be provided with a 150,000 km or five-year warranty and a 1.6 litre or 1.4 litre four cylinder engine options.
Rio’s previous model had the options of either 1.2 litre or 1.4-litre engines, but only the higher end one has carried over to the all-new Rio Compact. The car is naturally aspirated and will make 107 horsepower at 6,300 RPM apart from 135 Nm of torque at 4,200 RPM using the 1.4-litre engine.
While in the case of the non-turbo 1.6-litre engine, the car will generate 123 horsepower at 6,300 RPM along with 151Nm of torque at 4,800 RPM.
Rio in its fourth edition promises even better ride quality and offers its buyers with two alloy wheel designs and 10 exteriors colours.
As per Kia, the car leads in the interior spacing, with the car providing 325 litres cargo space. Additionally, the Rio has a touchscreen display, keyless entry and start, sunroof, reversing kit that includes rear park assist and a reversing camera, and rain sensing wipers.
The path ahead for the all new Rio is quite cumbersome since there is a stiff competition with Toyota Yaris and the Hyundai Accent. The Rio total sales yearly account for around 15 percent of all the Kia sales globally; thus making it one of the Kio’s best-selling models around the world.
