Now Race With a Jaguar I-Pace Crossover
Jaguar’s I-Pace crossover is going to be put on sale in 2018 as the Jaguar’s first electric car ever. The car will be formidable in all the sense with it being capable of going from 0-100 km/h in just four seconds along with a driving range of 500 km utilising its 90kWh lithium-ion battery.
The I-Pace crossover is driven using a pair of electric motors, one put on each axle for providing the car with an all-wheel drive. I-Pace has a whopping 400 horsepower along with 700 Nm Torque.
The car has been made in a manner that it can be charged from 0-80 percent in just 90 minutes by the use of a regular wall socket(which is amazing, considering there’s no access yet at a lot of places to specialised car charging stations).
And now, you can race these I-Pace crossovers in the FIA Support Series.
The British manufacturer, Jaguar has announced the initiation of the world’s first international championship involving production-based EVs with the I-Pace. It’ll be launched as a support series for the FIA Formula E Championship in its season five, that starts towards the end of 2018. The racers will be lining up on grids in 10 cities around the world including Paris, Rome, Hong Kong, New York and Sao Paolo.
There is an availability of 20 spots for environmentally-conscious petrolheads. Jaguar is running this as a complete package deal of ‘Arrive and Drive’ so that your money gets you an entry to series and a race for an I-Pace eTrophy apart from all car preparation, tech support, hospitality and global logistics. Typically, a race weekend will include free practice and qualifying sessions with the main attraction being a 30 minute race.
Although, Jaguar hasn’t given any specs of the I-Pace eTrophy racing car, but it’s safe to assume it won’t be the standard I-Pace crossover!
More information about the eTrophy and the Formula E support series will be revealed in 2018.
