Hyundai i30 N Brings in Competition to VW Golf GTI
Hyundai has announced that company is just mere months from starting its sale for the new N division. Albert Biermann, head of the N division, unveiled the new i30 N hatchback at the Frankfurt auto show 2017.
At the press briefing, Biermann added that everybody had been looking for the Golf GTI, anticipating its launch, but once the i30 N starts production, the people chasing Golf will likely change mindsets.
The new i30 N is an advanced version of what people have already seen in the Elantra GT. The i30 N comes packed with a 2.0 liter four cylinder turbocharged engine and manual transmission with six gears. There will be different versions of the car available that are the Eco, Normal, N custom, and Sports N.
The car’s performance can be boosted to 271 Horsepower using the optional performance package while the standard performance will be 250 Horsepower.
Biermann has made it clear that Hyundai won’t be following Mercedes-Benz footsteps of building an N version of every vehicle it produces.
The i30N seems ready to dive further onto giving further competition to the Golf GTI, which is scheduled to launch later this year.
