Genesis Reveals its 2018 G70 Sedan
Hyundai-Kia’s luxury brand Genesis has just revealed its new 2018 G70 sedan at the Genesis’ design centre in Nankang in South Korea.
The new 2018 G70 sedan will start rolling out later this month to cater to global audiences.
This new sedan will go up against some of the most successful models such as Lexus IS, Mercedes C-Class and Audi A4, the new Genesis G70 is slightly longer, wider and lower than the competition.
Design of the new 2018 G70 sedan
Although it’s getting introduced as the entry-level model from Genesis, the car shows the company’s future direction when it comes to styling. The design has a long bonnet as well as short overhangs. There’s a crest-type grille that’s flanked by even more aggressive air intake. Now, the character lines extend from the car’s bonnet emblem.
Genesis G70 has borrowed a bit from its German rivals with a driver-oriented centre console and dashboard apart from proper use of materials such as aluminium that’s used for the car door handles, real metal speaker grilles, quilter leather and soft touch surfaces.
Consumers will have the option of five interior and ten exterior colours, although, there are two options exclusive only for the top end G70 Sport.
The Genesis 2018 G70 sedan has three different powertrains. The top end G70 Sport has a 3.3-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine, which produces 370 horsepower as well as 520 Nm Torque. The car can go from 0-100km/h in just 4.7 seconds, as well as reach the maximum top speed of 270 km/h.
The other options to choose from are a diesel engine and an entry-level 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 250 horsepower and 360 Nm Torque.
As per the company, a lot of attention was given to minimise the noise, vibration, as well as harshness with promises being made of a much different chassis as compared to the G90 and G80 models.
The final specs for the 2018 G70 sedan that’s due for Middle East will only be announced by early 2018, when the model’s due in the region.
