Genesis G70 Photographed While Testing
Hyundai’s Genesis G70 luxury sport sedans were recently photographed by spy photographers as they were undergoing the hot-weather testing along with a pair of BMW 3 Series models that were used for benchmarking.
The Genesis G70 model is slightly larger in dimensions as compared to the 3 series models. Even though the Genesis G70 models were camouflaged to hide any design details, some features were visible. The presence of diamond-pattern grille and different variants of the exhaust outlets and alloy wheels, which depend on the trim level and the engine is visible.
The Genesis G70 will make its debut in the next few months, and the model shall be the first stand-alone model built in the Genesis brand. Hyundai’s Genesis brand also sells the G80 and G90 sedans, which were earlier marketed as Hyundai models.
Kia Stinger and the Genesis G70 are sharing the similar platform. It is being speculated that car’s engine will be similar to the Stinger as well. For the base variant, a turbocharged 2.0-litre four cylinder engine with a capacity of 250 horsepower will be provided most likely. A twin-turbo 3.3-litre V6 engine currently in use in the Genesis G90 and G80, along with Kia Stinger might be optional.
It is expected that Rear-wheel drive will be standard on the G70, and the all-wheel drive will be given as optional.
