Fuel Prices Surge in UAE due to Global Fluctuation in Oil Prices
It looks as if finally the respite to drivers is ending in the UAE after a period of three months. UAE announced new petrol prices that’ll come in effect for August, which have increased a bit.
Now, a liter of 98 Super will cost AED 1.89 while a liter of 95 Special will bear the price of AED 1.78.
While the motorists in the UAE have had a great enjoyment when it came to fuel prices since the prices in the UAE are one of the lowest, world wide, the latest update will increase it. However, the prices can’t compare to the same time last year when the cost of 98 Super was AED 1.73(August 2016).
This represents a 10 percent Year-on-Year increase in the price of fuel.
Now, a total of AED 89 will be required for 95 Special while AED 94.50 will be required for a 50-litre tank.
The prices of Diesel have increased as well, with a liter of Diesel being sold at AED 1.88. As per the UAE’s Ministry of Energy, the increase is in accordance with the global fluctuation of global crude oil prices.
Overall, for someone who regularly fills up fuel, the total difference would be an average of 1.5-2 percent more.
