Ford F-150’s Mid Life Update Seems Gracious Tribute to 100 Years of Ford Model TT
A few days ago, Ford celebrated the centennial of the first Ford Model TT pickup, which was the first vehicle to come in a production line. And now, Ford’s F-150 trucks lead the sales ranking in the US region for over 35 consecutive years. F-150 isn’t just the best selling truck, it is also the America’s best-selling vehicle.
The F-150 has undergone a new mid-life updation and comes with a promise of improved economy from the second-gen 2.7-litre six-cylinder turbocharged engine, carrying a tow rating of 5,990 Kg(6 Tons).
For 2018, Ford’s made the auto start stop as a standard feature and has added the new ten-speed automatic transmission as an additional choice across the range.
Some optional kit safety equipment in the new 2018 Ford F-150 include adaptive cruise control with the functionality of stop-and-go function in traffic, pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection, and emergency-braking function, which can apply the F-150’s brakes for avoiding an accident.
The entry level 2.7-litre V6 engine variant of F-150 has 34 Nm torque more than before, and apart from it, a 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated V8-engine variant has 10 extra horsepower as well as 18 Nm torque too due to the inclusion of some new technology from the GT350 Mustang.
Finally, for the 3.3 liter V6 engine option, there is an increase of 8 horsepower and 16 Nm torque.
