First of its Kind: Stelvio SUV To Make GCC Debut in November
Alfa Romeo Stelvio, the first ever SUV from the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will make its debut in the Middle East at the Dubai Motor Show 2017 in November, according to Ford Chrysler Automobiles(FCA) Middle East.
The car will reach local showrooms in the initial months of next year.
Stelvio in its hottest Quadrfoglio guise will undoubtedly be the centre of attraction at the 2017 Dubai Motor Show. The car delivers more than 500 horsepower produced by a Ferrari developed engine. The fact that both the brands, Alfa Romeo and Ferrari are under the umbrella of FCA will help with smooth technology or hardware transition.
The Stelvio’s has the Alfa Romeo’s Q4 AWD tech that has the ability to send all the power to the car’s rear wheels alone. This tech coupled to a 510 horsepower 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine gives the Stelvio Quadrifoglio a fair chance at attracting a lot of buyers in the GCC region.
Alfa Romeo has promised to deliver a benchmark level performance in the segment for performance and handling. The company hasn’t exactly shied away from any comparisons to either BMW X5 M or Porsche Cayenne Turbo.
The car has been developed in Modena, while the Stelvio takes the name from the Europe’s second-highest mountain pass, which connects Switzerland with Italy over the Alps.
The Stelvio has a weight of 1.7 tons that comes from the use of Aluminium in the car’s mechanical components. Although, some of the car’s body panels have been made out of carbon fibre, apart from letting customers specify carbon fibre racing bucket seats and carbon ceramic brakes if anybody wants an even leaner weight numbers for the Stelvio Quadrifoglio.
The car has been given an eight-speed automatic transmission and the car has a Race driving mode, which according to Alfa Romeo has drawn know-how from the motor sport expertise of Ferrari.
For now, the price of the car has not been given yet, but it is likely that the confirmation for the price of Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio will come as it makes the premiere at the Dubai Motor Show 2017.
