Dubai RTA’s Elaborate Traffic Management Plan for Eid Al Adha
Dubai RTA’s Elaborate Traffic Management Plan for managing the Dubai’s Downtown area around the upcoming Eid Al Adha holiday weekend has been launched.
CEO of Traffic and Roads Agency as well as Chairperson of Traffic Management, Eng. Maitha bin Adai said there is a plan for managing the expected congestion around the area.
The Dubai RTA’s Elaborate Traffic Management Plan will cover the district of Burj Khalifa, around where 30 directional signs are to be installed for guiding traffic and the road users coming in from several directions.
The primary objective of the Dubai RTA’s Elaborate Traffic Management Plan is about easing the pressure on the Financial Centre Street as well as ensuring a smooth flow of traffic during the peak hours. Additionally, the traffic signals around the Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard and the Financial Centre Street is going to be monitored and otherwise controlled for the seamless flow of all the traffic during peak hours.
The RTA expects to see about 350,000 people visiting the Dubai’s Downtown area only, with a total footfall of 1 million people around the emirate.
The number of taxi and bus pick-up and drop-off points around The Dubai Mall will also be increased, with an increase of 5% in the operational taxis vis-a-vis last year.
A team comprising of technical inspectors and engineers will be on standby for managing the traffic during the Eid Al Adha holiday, in joint coordination with Emaar and Dubai Police, for ensuring the implementation of all the operational plans apart from the all possible execution of the required closures.
