Dubai Police Adds Peugeot iOn E-car in its Fleet
Dubai Police seem to be on a spree to keep the city safer in a ‘green’ manner. The Dubai Police has added brand-new Peugeot iOn E-car as patrol cars to the fleet on Thursday. These vehicles will be stationed at airports of Dubai, according to a tweet by Dubai Media Office.
While no specific number has been released about the number of vehicles, however, the cars added are the French-manufactured Peugeot iOn EVs. Nobody’s unfamiliar with Dubai Police’s supercar fleet that includes Bugatti Veyron, Nissan GTR, Nissan Patrol 4X4, etc.
Car experts have been hailing the Peugeot iOn e-car as being environment-friendly and also for the car’s quiet engine.
The Peugeot iOn e-car has been powered using a 47-kilowatt (64bhp) electric motor that gets power from the 16 kilowatt-hour Li-ion battery pack. Its acceleration is smooth as well as strong and will be able to serve much better as compared to internal combustion engine based cars.
Additionally, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has also rolled out 50 Tesla EVs in the limo section of the Dubai Taxi Corporation.
