Dubai Police: Know When to Slow Down
Dubai Police has been known to make sure it is fully equipped in handling all kinds of activities and monitoring the citizens as well. With the ardent use of technology, the Police force has time and again showcased their prowess, by the use of hyper expensive super cars and by installing 700 radars that can be spotted around the Dubai.
If a person tries to over speed or jump a red light near the radar, the person will get a fine, but do you know the efficiency of the radar?
Radars have been installed at either traffic signals or on the streets for detection of speed. The radars at the signals can detect if the person is taking a wrong turn, overspeeding, violating the yellow box or jumping a red signal, etc. Other radars can be used for spotting over speeding cars.
Although, the radars on the highways can capture photos only, while those at the signals can capture videos. Through the system, the radars can meter remotely. RTA and Dubai Police get to know the number of violations made near a particular radar and the total numbers of cars as well as their speeds.
The radars used by the Dubai Police can monitor six lanes, and two hard shoulders, simultaneously, just in case a car tried to hide behind a truck.
Additionally, these radars can even differentiate between heavy and light vehicles. And are capable of monitoring vehicles within a 200-metre distance, and if the car seems to be speeding, the radar will capture a picture in the last 70 meters.
However, whenever there is a huge lap between two radars, Dubai Police resorts to the use of mobile units for controlling the vehicles.
