Driving Vintage Cars Not Just a Dream Anymore
For a car enthusiast, finding a classic car just like that is as good as having a jackpot by all means. But, even well-kept collector cars aren’t driven as much. For keeping the car in best shape, it should be given a drive every few days. And for people who are busy and can’t find time for beloved classic cars, there’s a solution now!
Hagerty, an insurance company that deals with classic cars has launched DriveShare, a peer-to-peer platform for car sharing of the classic and exotic cars. The users of the service are carefully vetted and have to make a $500 deposit, after which they can get up to $1 million of rental protection along with the ability to search for any available cars in the region. Additionally, the fees include Roadside assistance too, which is duly required for all the old rides.
Around the US, around 135 cars have been signed up for being on the service, with expected growth as more collectors touch bases.
As a group of car-collecting community as well as an insurer, Hagerty is properly suited to earn the trust of classic car collectors that may initially be sceptic about sharing their rides. Hagerty even organises events for learning how to drive vintage models too, since it believes in the point that older cars need love as well.
In addition to the classic vintage cars, new exotics too are present on the platform. However, they carry a steep price, such as a Lamborghini Aventador 2015 model that’s available in California for $3,300 per day.
