Bugatti’s New Model Could Be a Four-Door
Supercar maker Bugatti, acclaimed with the crown jewel in the Volkswagens’ portfolio, is considering to build a four-door model which will go on sale around 2024.
The model which is yet to be named is likely to pick up where the previous concept of Galibier Left off, at the 2009 Frankfurt show the Galibier model was introduced as a mere concept only.
Bugatti Automobiles president Wolfgang Durheimer has an opinion that the four-door car concept is not dead yet and the Volkswagen Group will make its final decision on the model at the end of 2018.
Bugatti’s earlier model ‘Veyron’ had a lifespan of 12-years vs. its current model, 1,500-hp Chiron, with a lifespan of 8-years.
Durheimer plans to make the car to be one-model brand only.
The company is yet to decide about the final powertrain for its next car while considering all options: hybrid, pure internal combustion or fully electric.
The decision will be based on the performance criteria because that’s what customers expect from the company.
In the development stages of the current Chiron, Bugatti considered the part to make it electrifying and decided to call off the plan and finally produced it with pure internal combustion due to the factors like weight and packaging.
A few months ago, Bugatti also opened its biggest showroom ever occupying an area of more than 240 sq meters marking the exclusivity of it. The showroom will deal only with one model and it will be operated by Al Habtoor Motors.
UAE is an important market for us as the number of Bugatti owners is the highest in the region as compared to any other region around the world.
