Borgward Shows a Slight Teaser for a New Car to be Unveiled at Frankfurt Motor Show
The biennially held Frankfurt Motor Show will happen this year and will open doors to the public as it starts on September 14. Being the inherently popular car show that it is, the show has already been getting a lot of attention.
In the last iteration in Frankfurt in 2015, Borgward announced its plans to return to the car market.
And now, the company is leaving no holds barred in finding its place among the other car companies.
Back in the time, Borgward was a well known for its roadsters, sedans and its financial woes, now the company has found itself a Chinese backing. The company now plans to create some noise in the SUVs sector, and that seems like a good plan considering the growth in the recent times for the SUVs.
The company has already unveiled its BX5 and BX7 crossover models.
Borgward has set the targets quite high and ambitious, with a plan to sell 800,000 vehicles per year by 2020. The sales will commence in China and Europe from 2018. And this won’t be limited only to China and Europe as the Middle East seems to play a large role in the company’s plans to grow exponentially. Borgward signed agreements pertaining to regional distribution just last month with Union Motors in the UAE, Al-Zayani Trading in Kuwait, and Awadi Motors in Bahrain.
Now, the company’s latest concept vehicle, which looks like a two door sports car as shown in the teaser released by the Borgward. The vehicle seems to resemble the brand’s old Hansa as well as Isabella Coupe models.
However, nothing else is known about the concept vehicle yet, except that it will be unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. Although it seems that the vehicle will have either an electric drivetrain or a plug-in hybrid drivetrain.
