BMW 8-Series Concept and M8 Prototype Debuted
BMW 8-Series Concept made its debut at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este after a teaser of the 8 series was launched earlier.
It has been said earlier that the new BMW 8-Series is mostly likely to hit the roads in the year 2018. At the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, it was reported that the Concept will represent the BMW 8-Series. BMW revived the 8-Series after a dry spell in the luxury flagships, with its competitors taking the lead. An M8 version of the car has also been announced.
Exteriors of BMW 8-Series Concept
The BMW 8-Series concept features a large grill upfront which has sleek laser headlamps on the either sides. Along with, the front bumper and fenders have been made so as to accentuate the muscular flared wheel arches.
The tail lamps have been extended to the boot’s lid giving the car a wide appearance. Even the trapezoidal exhaust tips follow the same design pattern. The concept has been given the “Barcelona Grey Liquid” paint coating; with the 8-Series concept having exclusive 21-inch wheels.
The concept car’s interior has been modeled on the same fluidic design. Built around the carbon fiber shell; the seats have been made from Merino leather with a finishing of Fjord White and Dark Brown. To give the iDrive controller an extravagant feel, Swarovski has been added to the iDrive controller.
BMW hasn’t yet released details about the engine for the 8-Series concept yet. But in a typical BMW fashion, BMW will probably get their biggest and the best engine rolling for the concept car.
When the BMW 8-Series is released, it will certainly make up for the lack of options in the luxury coupe range for the BMW. The production for 6-Series has already been stopped.
A camouflaged prototype of the M8 was seen at the 2017 Nürburgring 24hr race that sports modified air intakes, quad exhausts, and modified brakes.
