Automechanika Dubai 2017: Automotive Aftermarket Gala
Automechanika Dubai 2017, the largest regional automotive aftermarket, started on Sunday, May 7th. The three-day event is thronged by global and local companies from around the world. The event was opened at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre and is necessary for the auto parts and service makers which are looking to tap into the 4.9% growth by 2021 with an increase in valuation of $14.8bn.
The 15th edition of the event was inaugurated by Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General as well as Chairman of the board of executive directors of the Dubai RTA. The number of exhibitors participating in the event is around 1,954 which are coming from 57 countries around the world.
The three-day affair features 36 international trade associations and 25 country pavilions, with more than 50% of the expected 30,000 plus visitors being foreign nationals from outside the country.
Automobile parts manufacturers from India, Korea and Germany have all made a strong impression, showcasing their national strength in their country pavilions.
Estimates suggest that around 44.5 million passenger and 1.8 million commercial vehicles are poised to ply on Middle Eastern roads by 2020, which is a market that the companies around the world hope to be a part.
Automechanika Dubai is also set to host two conferences which hope to provide insights and a deeper understanding of connected mobility and future direction and growth of the middle eastern aftermarket. The conference on Spare Parts and Maintenance Conference was held on May 7, and the conference on Smart Traffic in the Middle East will be held on on May 8 and 9.
