Audi R8 Spyder V10 Plus Packs Powerful Performance
Audi has upgraded its R8 Spyder to R8 Spyder V10 Plus, thus granting the beast more power. The mid-engined convertible 540 Horsepower R8 Spyder has been given a boost of 70 Horsepower taking it to 610 Horsepower in the Plus model.
The new R8 Spyder V10 Plus also has the soft top that works by power folding, just like the regular iteration. The soft top can go up or down at speeds of up to 50 km/h.
Engine Improvements of the Audi R8 Spyder V10 Plus
The engine’s power upgrade is visible in the car’s performance as the R8 Spyder V10 Plus can go from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.3 seconds as compared to the R8 Spyder that could go to the accelerate the same in 3.6 seconds. The use of a V10 engine is working in the favour with V10 Plus revving over 8,700 RPM. The top speed has been increased the same way to reach 328 km/h.
There are some parts of the powertrain that have been left same as the standard variant. The Quattro All-wheel drive and seven-speed S-Tronic dual clutch gearbox have been retained from the R8. The R8 Spyder V10 Plus has the ability to send full power to either of the axles in extreme situations; which is again borrowed from standard R8.
Audi virtual cockpit is a standard while the Audi Laser headlights are optional. A lot of exotic technology is used in the car that technophiles are going to love. There is even a Carbon Fibre Diffuser, which adds around 220 pounds of downforce.
The R8 Spyder V10 Plus weighs less than the older R8 Spyder by 25 kilogrammes. This is due to carbon ceramic brakes, lighter alloy wheels, and lightweight bucket seats.
The Audi R8 Spyder V10 Plus will be seen on the roads of Europe in the late summer; however there is no news yet as to when we’ll be seeing it in the UAE or the rest of GCC region.
