Aston Martin New Zagato Line-up Looks To Excite Things Up
Aston Martin, the British Car maker, has launched plans for a whole Zagato-designed lineup which will span four models. These four models will also include the Shooting Brake and a new Vanquish Speedster.
Only a total of 325 cars will be built in the limited series of the family. There will be a split of 99 Volantes, 99 Coupes, 28 Speedsters and 99 Shooting Brakes.
Because of the collaboration between the famous Italian design house Zagato and Gaydon Car maker, the Vanquish Zagato Coupes are already in production since 2016, following it is the commencement of the deliveries of the Volante.
All the four cars will have the same 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine that is based on Vanquish S. The engine will be able to get the cars to a top speed of 320 km/h and go from 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, all thanks to 600 horsepower and 630 Nm Torque.
The cars will be a rear wheel drive and will have an eight-speed automatic transmission. The kerb weight of the cars will be around 1.7 tonnes, while the wheels will be 20-inch ones.
Such is the craze for the cars that Speedster, the rarest of the four Zagatos, with only 28 units, have already been sold even before it entered production. However, Shooting Brake is still available and will begin production in 2018.
All the cars will feature body panels made of carbon fiber and are expected to have some common design elements linking them together, like the Zagato ‘Z’ motifs on the rear vents and the front grille and Aston Martin Vulcan-inspired ‘Blade’ taillights.
These limited edition cars will not be cheap by any account and carry a base tag of AED 2 million.
