Apple iOS 11 Brings Safety Features While Driving
It is a known fact that using a phone while driving is a dangerous prospect. Thousands of people end up causing accidents or hurting themselves just because of the usage of phones. But, despite people’s dedication, the never ending notifications distract people, even if momentarily. While driving, even a moment’s delay might lead to an unwanted situation. To help people from viewing these notifications at all, Apple has improved its upcoming iOS 11. The new feature in the upcoming iOS 11 is ‘Do Not Disturb While Driving.’
The new feature which is already present in some of the Android-based phones helps drive safely without the buzz of notifications. The feature utilizes Bluetooth or WiFi Doppler effect for determining the speed at which a person is moving and shows a blank screen accordingly.
When a person uses the feature once, the iOS will prompt the user to launch DNDWD if it determines that the person is in a moving vehicle. However, if you are a passenger, you have the option for dismissing the notice.
The feature comes with the option of sending auto-replies to texts; the reply will let the other person that the person is driving and can be contacted after a while. There will be a white list, and contacts in those can connect while Do Not Disturb While Driving is on.
This new feature will be beneficial for people who don’t have access to Apple CarPlay; and will help them drive safely without distraction.
