654 Confiscated Vehicles To Be Auctioned In Dubai
Dubai Police has put up 654 confiscated and abandoned vehicles on the auction list. The vehicles will be sold on 25th May 2017. However, the police have contacted the owners of these vehicles in one last bid in case anyone wants to clear the dues and reclaim their vehicles.
Owners of these confiscated vehicles will have to get in touch with the concerned department before the grace period of three months ends on May 25th. However, if any owner fails to fails to contact the office within the stipulated time, the cars will be auctioned for sale.
A comprehensive list and details of the confiscated vehicles have been published on the Dubai Police’s website and also in the leading newspapers. Apart from that, owners have been individually contacted so that no owner can feign surprise over the issue or claim no information had been given.
Assistant Commander-in-Chief for the Dubai Police, Major General Mohammed Saif Al-Zafin who handles Operations Affairs gave a statement asking owners of the vehicles to approach General Department of Traffic in Bur Dubai and Deira to procure their vehicles. He additionally said that, in accord with the law, if any owner wishes to get back their vehicle before the auction, they will have to pay the necessary traffic violation fee.
The models that have will be on auction include Audi, Subaru, Range Rover, Cadillac, Porsche, Mercedes, Lexus, BMW, Alfa Romeo, Mini Cooper, Jaguar, among many others.
Everywhere hundreds of cars end up abandoned in parking lots or impound yards with nobody to claim them. The cars which are sometimes worth millions of dollars lie catching dust.
Maj Gen Al-Zafin also made it clear that the committee responsible for auction will deal with the whole auctioning process with transparency to leave no questions asked.
