24H of Dubai 2018 Gets 70 Entries Early On
70 entries have already been registered for the Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai 2018 in spite of event being months away. The event will retain the current touring car and GT format for its 2018 edition. Despite still being eight months away, 70 entries have already been confirmed for the Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai, which will retain its current GT and touring car format for 2018.
Featuring a high number of GT3 entries, the 13th iteration of the Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai’s twice around the clock enduro is poised to happen from January 11-13th.
The provisional list regarding the entry finds mention of some of the top European teams, which include Grasser Racing Team, Belgian Audi Club Team WRT, Herberth Motorsport who won the 2017’s event, Konrad Motorsport, and Attempto Racing.
Some improvements are to be expected in 2018 event over this year’s event with the exclusion of minimum reference lap times and increase in transparency over penalties. There will be further improvements in the regulations as well so as to focus on wide variety of cars for the combination of amateurs, gentlemen, semi-pro and pro drivers.
Along with the 24H series events in 2018, there will be a separate GT4 class that will begin with the Dubai race. The Dubai event is going to feature prototype machinery and will be held from January 5-6, but the format is yet to be announced for the 12 hours race.
