2018 Hyundai Kona Crossover Feels Like A Great Ride
Hyundai’s latest reveal is the 2018 Hyundai Kona Crossover. It seems surprising though since every segment has been covered by the company through its Tuscon, Creta and Santa Fe. The new Kona Crossover has been designed on a new B-segment platform.
Specs of the 2018 Hyundai Kona Crossover
The Kona Crossover is being provided with two different kinds of four-cylinder engines, which have been mated for both Front wheel drive and All wheel drive. With even electric models to be made in the future, the engine department of the crossover looks promising.
In the base model, the car has a 147 horsepower 2.0-liter engine with the maximum speed of 193 kmph. The car has a 6-speed automatic transmission, can go from 0-100 km/h in 10 seconds.
The other engine variant would be a more powerful 175 horsepower 1.6-liter turbocharged engine. The Kona Crossover will have a seven-speed dual clutch transmission letting it speed up to 209 kmph. With the 0-100 km/h time of 7.7 seconds, the engine seems well built.Europe will also get an 118 hp 1.0-litre turbocharged inline-3 with a six-speed manual transmission, aside from a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder diesel option.
Based on the type of the engine chosen, the Kona Crossover has the option from two different rear suspensions. There’s torsion beam system will accompany the FWD, while multi-link rear suspension will go with the AWD.
The crossover seems to be working well on integrating customer choice with the latest technology. With options of 5, 7, 8-inch infotainment systems, the Kona crossover provides Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In the Kona, Hyundai is also offering a new heads-up display, which projects graphics over a dash mounted transparent panel.
There will also be rear cross traffic alert, driver attention warning, blind spot warning, lane keep assist, high beam assist and more of such features in the car.
The Hyundai Kona Crossover will find itself on the roads of South Korea later in the month of June. However, there has been no update on when the car will be offered in the GCC region.
