2018 Ford Mustang Big on Performance and Features
Ford gave a facelift to the sixth generation Mustang in January this year. And while there was not much information available back then over the updates, quite a lot of details have surfaced about the Mustang now.
The specs of 2018 Sixth-generation Mustang do suggest that the 2018 Ford Mustang GT is the fastest mainstream Ford Mustang that has been built.
The updated 2018 Mustang GT has the same 5.0-litre V8 engine as seen in the previous model but for added difference, this time the car has been provided with direct injection. This has a direct effect on the engine performance as the power output has now reached to 460 horsepower compared to 435 horsepower earlier. Also, the Mustang has now been provided with Ford’s new 10-speed automatic transmission.
2018 Mustang’s EcoBoost model will have a turbocharged 2.3-liter 4 cylinder engine with the same transmission, although the power output will be the 310 horsepower only.
For those who love manual transmission and wouldn’t want to part with it, there is a good news as the newly updated variant will have manual transmission too.
The updates to the hardware come along with software updates to help the sixth generation Mustang perform better. One of the most important updates is the addition of Drag Strip mode as a selectable driving mode. In this, the car eliminates torque drop during the gearshift, and in the Mustangs that have the optional MagneRide dampers, this applies more vertical force to rear axles for improved grip.
Because of all the improvement, the updated 2018 Mustang can go from 0-100 kph in just around 4 seconds.
The 2018 Ford Mustang will be coming to the Saudi Arabia, UAE and other GCC countries early next year.
