2018 Chevrolet Equinox Promises to be a Stunning Crossover
Crossovers are going on to become a favourite with the buyers and keeping this in mind, Chevrolet has recently launched the new 2018 Chevrolet Equinox for its Middle Eastern Market.
Already immensely popular in the U.S. where it is one of the best selling vehicles after Silverado; with Equinox, Chevrolet hopes for the crossover to be just as popular in the Middle East. Equinox will be replacing the Captiva, a Korean Built vehicle which failed to get the due attention in the Middle East.
Exteriors of the Chevrolet Equinox
From the exterior point of view, the Chevrolet Equinox has a simple yet attractive look. The front end has been provided with a large grille with headlights which are wrapped around the sides. The top Premier model will be given the cool LED headlights; while the daylight running lamps and fog lamps will be provided as a standard feature on all the models of the Equinox.
On the other hand, the rear end has LED tail lamps, which extend horizontally on to the car’s rear doors. The Premier model is the only model to get the dual exhaust system.
Interiors of the Chevrolet Equinox
Chevrolet Equinox’s interiors are surely interesting; and it all begins with the Chevrolet’s MyLink system that has a 7-inch touchscreen, USB and Bluetooth as standard across all trims.
Even in the interiors, the Premier trim gets an 8-inch screen, more USB ports and 9-speaker Bose audio system. The Premier trim also had ventilated seats. Apart from this, the rear legroom is excellent.
Engine of the Chevrolet Equinox
The Equinox has certainly been unveiled at the right time, just as buyers have been becoming more fuel conscious. Under the Equinox’s hood, there are two 4-cylinder turbocharged engine options.
The base engine variant 1.5-litre turbo engine produces upto 170 horsepower and 273 Nm torque, which is then mated to the 6-speed automatic transmission. As per GM, the FWD crossover will have a fuel economy of around 6.7 litres per 100 km. The crossover can supposedly do 0-100 kmph in just 9 seconds.
The other variant is the 2.0-litre turbo engine that churns out 250 horsepower and 353 Nm torque, which has been mated with a new 9-speed automatic transmission. However, this variant is only available in the AWD and can do about 7.4 litres per 100 km. Thus, giving an excellent efficiency that is aided by the auto start/stop in the engine. The car can go from 0-100 kmph in just 7.3 seconds.
The price of the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox will start from AED 77,000 for its 1.5-litre turbo variant, thus, as a result making it a great buy.
