2018 BMW M5 has been officially revealed by BMW. This new vehicle from the BMW is seemingly different from the standard 5-series on the exterior, getting a larger front grille and a more aggressive rear bumper along with vents and diffusers in the fenders. The interior is a bit subtle with sports seats, M buttons on the M5’s steering wheel for choosing custom driving modes and M5 logos.
Under its hood, the 2018 BMW M5 has a 4.4-litre turbocharged V8 engine producing 600 horsepower and 750 Nm torque, an increase of 40 horsepower and 72 Nm over the previous model. The car has an 8-speed automatic delivering power to an all wheel drive system. The AWD system has been a new addition on the M5 and can also function as an RWD too. The car has a 0-100 km/h time of 3.4 seconds.
For improving the overall handling characteristics, BMW has worked to revamp the double-wishbone front suspension as well as multi-link rear suspension. Firmer anti-roll bars and chassis bracing have been added too.
BMW will be providing Carbon ceramic brakes as an available option. Additionally, the car will have 19-inch alloy wheels.
The front hood and fenders have been made of Aluminum to reduce weight, although the roof has been made of carbon fiber.
The 2018 BMW M5 will come to the UAE and other GCC countries next year.
