2017 LEAF EV Teaser Points To Design Changes
Nissan released the teaser of next generation EV, LEAF electric family car. Even though the image shows only the car’s headlight, the design seems to hint to a different and an aggressive appearance of the LEAF.
The teaser has made people around the industry curious, and there will be keen eyes following any news about the LEAF. The car will most probably make its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show 2017 happening around October. With the speculation and buzz surrounding the car, it is expected that more pictures or details may get available a month or two before the event. The EV is supposed to go live for sale by the end of this year.
The new LEAF might feature Nissan’s ProPilot, its more advanced autonomous driving system that is ahead of the currently used technology in the current Nissan models like Qashqai. The autonomous ProPilot may render the LEAF ability to self-learn more about roads it traverses on, and self-drive on single lane roads. The LEAF will also have Seamless Autonomous Mobility (SAM), a brainchild of Nissan and NASA. It will allow the car more control in unpredictable conditions.
While there are a couple more ideas that have been worked upon, it remains to be seen as to how many of them make it to the production model of the LEAF EV hatchback that will surface in the market later this year.
